At Coupland Leather, we take great care to ensure your order is dispatched securely and promptly. Once your item leaves our workshop, control passes to the delivery service selected at checkout.

Please be aware that all items are hand crafted in house and are typically dispatched within 2-10 working days depending on the item we are crafting and how busy the workshop is at the time of order. For more accurate dispatch times, please get in touch.

To track your parcel, please visit the official courier tracking page with your provided tracking number.

Below are the key details of our shipping process:

Standard Shipping

  • All standard parcels are sent via Royal Mail (our chosen carrier), unless an alternative courier has been specifically discussed and agreed between Coupland Leather and the client.
  • Using an alternative courier may result in higher postal fees, which will be communicated and agreed upon before dispatch. Please see our clause on alternative carriers below.

Tracking Information

  • When your order is dispatched, you will receive tracking details by email or SMS.
  • If you do not receive tracking information, please contact us and we will resend it.

Address Accuracy & Redirection

  • We ship to the address provided at checkout.
  • If you need to change the delivery address before dispatch, contact us as quickly as possible. We will try to amend it, but cannot guarantee changes if the item is already packed or posted.
  • Once dispatched, we cannot redirect or recall parcels. Royal Mail does not allow us to override or influence redirection requests.

Signature on Delivery

  • All parcels are sent requiring a signature to confirm safe delivery.
  • Please ensure someone is available to sign for the parcel.
  • If you request delivery without a signature, Coupland Leather accepts no responsibility for loss or theft. We will assume the parcel was delivered safely. This must be communicated and agreed upon before Coupland Leather ships the parcel.

Missed Delivery & Collection

  • If delivery fails (e.g., no signature), the parcel will be sent to a local depot or Post Office.
  • It will be held for 18 working days (21 working days if customs charges apply) before being returned to sender.
  • If returned to us:
    • It will come back via the same service originally used.
    • We do not refund parcels returned because the client failed to collect.
    • If you want the item resent, you must pay postage again.

Lost Parcels

  • Royal Mail considers a parcel missing if not delivered within 7 working days after the expected date.
  • If a parcel is officially marked as lost by Royal Mail, Coupland Leather will replace or refund the order at our discretion.
  • We do not have a direct line or contact with Royal Mail. We can only use the provided tracking information to check the latest update and have access to the same information as you.
  • We will assist by providing tracking details and guidance on contacting Royal Mail.

Responsibility During Delivery

Coupland Leather uses Royal Mail as our named carrier. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, Section 29, risk remains with Coupland Leather until the goods are delivered to you or a person you have authorised (such as a neighbour or Post Office collection point).

If you choose to use Royal Mail’s diversion or redirection services, Coupland Leather has no control over this process. However, our responsibility continues until Royal Mail confirms delivery to the authorised location. After delivery is confirmed, responsibility transfers to you.

Alternative Couriers

If you request that your order be shipped using a courier other than Royal Mail (our named carrier), responsibility for the goods transfers to you once the parcel is handed over to that chosen courier. This is in accordance with the Consumer Rights Act 2015, Section 29(3).
